A Message from Superintendent Greg Baker
Dear staff, students, families and community,
I want you to be among the first to know that I was not selected for the superintendent position of the Northwest Educational Service District (NWESD) 189.
As I said in my message earlier this week, I am proud to be a part of the Bellingham community, and I wasn’t looking to leave my position or our district.
Staying in Bellingham is not a consolation prize - in fact, I remain energized and entirely engaged in the important work we are doing together.
It was truly an honor to be invited to apply and then be a finalist for that position. I’m sure many of you can relate and have gone through robust interview processes, then not gotten the job in the end. I am quite grateful for the experience - it was a valuable, healthy and vulnerable exercise to go through, and I wish the new NWESD superintendent the best of luck.
I really appreciate the kind words I have received over the last two days. Thank you so much for your support. It is an honor and a pleasure to be your superintendent.
Greg Baker
