Here are the summer 2023 hours for schools and the District Office: 

Elementary and Middle Schools 

• June 20 – 23: Elementary and middle school offices open to the public. 
• June 26 – Aug. 16: Elementary and middle school offices closed for the summer. 
• Beginning Aug. 17: Elementary and middle school offices reopen on Thursday, Aug. 17. Office hours for the public will be 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. until the first day of school.  

High Schools

• June 19 – 23: High school offices open to the public from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
• June 26 – July 7: High school offices open to the public from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and closed on Friday. (Closed July 4.) 
• July 10 – 21 High School offices closed. Options High School is open for summer school only.  
• July 24 – Aug. 11: High school offices open to the public from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and closed on Friday.  
• Beginning Aug 14: High School offices open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.  

District Office 

• June 19 – Aug. 11: The District Office reception is open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Visitors can reach staff for assistance by phone from 2 to 4 p.m. The office is closed to the public on Fridays.  
• July 4: All district buildings closed in observance of the fourth of July holiday.   
• Beginning Aug. 14: The District Office returns to regular hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

Don’t miss important information; activate ParentSquare and StudentSquare

Our schools and district use ParentSquare for communication with families, students, staff and the community. Activate your account using the email address we have on file for you. Once activated, you can set your communication preferences. Students at middle and high school should also download the StudentSquare app to stay connected with important news and info.

Calendars: District and school calendars for the upcoming 2023-24 school year are located at bellinghamschools.org/calendars.  

Athletics and Activities: Some high school athletics begin before the school year starts. Make sure your high school athlete is up to date with registration and clearances through FinalForms. Coaches will communicate using FinalForms and/or ParentSquare. 

First days of 2023-24 school year 

• Thursday, Aug. 31:  First day of school for grades 1 through 12
• Monday, Sept. 4: All district buildings closed in observance of Labor Day holiday. 
• Tuesday, Sept. 5: Community Transitions program begins classes with welcome and meetings on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.
• Tuesday, Sept. 5: First day for kindergarten and Promise kindergarten. This is a regular school day 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Updated Aug. 10)
• Wednesday, Sept. 6: First day Preschool.  

Registration: Families new to our schools can register children online following the directions at bellinghamschools.org/registration  In-person assistance will be available at buildings that are open over the summer, including the District Office. Email registration@bellinghamschools.org with any questions.
