A Message from Superintendent Greg Baker

Dear families, staff and students,

Although the snowflakes seem to have disappeared for now from the forecast, winter temperatures and windy weather are here for now.

As you may have already heard from your school, we want to remind everyone that the forecast for Friday is for very cold temperatures. Please ensure students dress warmly, especially for those who bus, bike or walk to school. This is also a good time to make sure that coats, sweatshirts, hats and gloves/mittens are labeled with names. If your family needs assistance with winter clothing, please reach out to your school.

Our schools and staff will continue to monitor the weather and make determinations about activities, like moving recess indoors.

When weather conditions are challenging, but we can keep school open, we find schools are  good places for children to spend their day, with heat, warm meals and adult supervision. That said, it is also always a family’s choice to keep their children home from school.
