A Message from the Department of Operations

Staff, students, families and community members may apply for consideration to serve on the Safety and Security Planning Committee.

Interested individuals are encouraged to apply by 12 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20.

Bellingham Public Schools recognizes that school safety is of paramount importance and that best practices continually evolve.

Goals for the Safety and Security Planning Committee include recommending the following:

• technical safety and security standards for our schools and facilities, and
• safety and security projects to bring all facilities into alignment with district standards.

The committee will meet monthly from 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, March 6, April 17 and May 15 at the district office. You can learn more about this group at the committee webpage.
