Debate
We are a competitive debate and speech program made up of students from all three high schools. We travel to weekend tournaments. We do many different styles of debate including Lincoln-Douglas, Public Forum, Congress, and Policy. We write cases, conduct research, and practice our speaking and note-taking skills. Each form of debate and speech has its own coach, which makes our program efficient and unique from other programs in the area. When able, we also make sure to take team-bonding trips and get to know each other, which is great because we spend a lot of time together on the road!
Debate is an exciting, diverse, and inclusive space. We are a united team, which means you and your friends from other schools can have a common place to work together. While this activity is extremely fun, your schoolwork will thank you for the study and research skills. You will also be eased into public speaking, which is a skill everyone needs! You will also have the ability in future seasons to travel around Washington and Oregon and make friends from other schools.
Make sure to sign up in FinalForms!
We meet on Tuesdays at BHS (2nd floor Commons) from 4:30-6:30
