BHS FASTPITCH SCHEDULE Updated 2/28

Fastpitch Expectations

A message from Coach Andersen…

Dear Softball Players, families, and fans,

My name is Kaeli Andersen, and I am so excited to be the new softball coach. I am currently a full-time student at Western Washington University, studying to become a teacher. In 2020 I graduated from Skagit Valley college with my associates degree in early childhood education. Softball has been my entire life. I started playing T-Ball at the age of 3 and did not put a ball down until the pandemic hit.  From ages 8-18 I traveled all over Washington state playing every weekend I could. I played varsity softball at Squalicum high school for 4 years. I continued my career at Skagit Valley College where I played for a year and a half until the pandemic hit. I love softball so much and I can’t wait to share that passion with the team. I am so excited and honored at the opportunity to give back to the community that has given me so much.

I can’t wait to see all the athletes at the preseason meeting on February 22nd after school. We will use this day to go over expectations and get to know each other. Practices will begin February 28th. I will give out our calendar including a practice schedule. I will also post it here on our website. I ask that before our first practice, students and families try their best to obtain softball gear! You will need athletic clothes for every day of the week, (preferably softball pants, but any long athletic pants are accepted, I will let athletes know when and if it is acceptable to wear shorts), a softball mitt, water bottle, and a bag to hold all of this! Optionally students can get their own bat, batting gloves, and face mask. If any of this is a problem, please reach out! Also feel free to reach out for recommendations on gear, I am happy to share my favorites.

I am excited for this season and can’t wait to meet you all! Please try to recruit your peers to come play as well, it will be a fun season with lots of hard work and skill development! If you have any questions comments or concerns, feel free to reach out!

Go BayHawks!
